From Our Pastor
Welcome to Long’s Chapel,
Haywood County is such a special place to live. And Long’s Chapel has been in ministry in and for this community for nearly 150 years. A lot of things have changed in that time, but what hasn’t changed is Long’s Chapel’s mission to share God’s love and help make it real for people in this part of God’s world.
I haven’t been here long but I am already appreciative of the heart of this church. I appreciate that we stand on a historic Christian Faith that is Jesus-centered and anchored in the Scriptures that were inspired by God. I have also found Long’s Chapel to be a great place to explore matters of faith when historic answers seem tired or rote and questions abound. I also appreciate that Long’s Chapel is a church community that simply wants God’s world to look more like God intended - where peace reigns, where basic needs of poverty are addressed and where nobody hurts alone. We want everyone to feel welcome. Our mission is to love people where they are as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.
During our Sunday Morning Worship Gatherings, we long to have an encounter with God by learning more about the Bible, God and our place in the world. We invite you to join us live at 8:20, 9:40, or 11 for different styles of worship that speak different spiritual languages. Or if you don’t feel comfortable showing up “cold”, then check us out on the Live Stream of our 9:40 service.
Here at Long’s Chapel, we seek to do 3 things:
We would love to get to know you. In the meantime, we pray for you to be aware of and to respond to the peace and love that only God can give. If we can help you in any way, please let us know.
