Community Reach Teams

Carpentry Ministry

We are called to help the needy and here is an opportunity to reach out to our community as the hands and feet of Jesus.  The Carpentry Ministry Reach Team provides for many diverse needs in our community including: building wheelchair ramps, replacing rotten flooring, repairing windows, among many other requests. We also volunteer on the build team for Habitat for Humanity one day each week. The Carpentry Ministry Reach Team is led by Bill Fisher, and the team exists to provide God’s work, without bureaucracy or committee meetings.  Plus we offer the added bonus of making some great friends while

serving together!  Join us soon, won’t you?

Knitting Ministry

Meets Thursdays at 10 am in room 210.

The knitters make slippers, sweaters, baby items, hats, lap robes, blankets, dish cloths, pot holders, and clothing for teddy bears.  These items go out to local community agencies. The team also creates prayer stoles which provide comfort and refreshment from God are given to people who are going through a difficult time in their lives. A devotion booklet with scripture readings and prayer accompany the stoles.

The Knitting Team shares friendship and fun together!  They take field trips to check out yarn shops, followed by lunch, of course.  In addition to charity projects, they exchange knitting techniques, answer questions about knitting projects, give knitting lessons, and enjoy the camaraderie of one another.  If you cannot make the Thursday morning meeting, why not consider being a “cottage knitter”–one who uses our patterns and yarn to knit at home. The knitting ministry is led by Cynthia Youse.
