Chris Westmoreland

Chris Westmoreland took his first church job as a youth director in 1995. Chris began with youth ministry in Kings Mountain and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Chris has served three churches as Lead Pastor including Central Clyde UMC, Assurance UMC in North Charlotte, and now Long’s Chapel. Chris is most passionate about connecting people to God and helping everyone realize how much God loves them.  He takes the scriptures seriously and glorifies how God uses them to speak inspiration into our lives.  He is honored that God gave him a place to live out God’s mission and a space to love people as a pastor. He graduated from Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, North Carolina in 1991. He then went to The University of North Carolina Charlotte and studied sociology and religious studies. Chris received his Master of Divinity in 1998 from Duke University and was ordained in full connection in the United Methodist Church in 2000. He spent his childhood in Thomasville, North Carolina, and calls Gastonia, North Carolina home. Chris married his wife Kristin in 1995; they have three children, Drew, Abby and Cameron.
