FIREWOOD MINISTRY
Celebrating its 15 year anniversary in November 2020, the Firewood Ministry is a YEAR-ROUND ministry with a mission to provide warmth to those in need. Richard Reeves is the leader of this ministry, which began in 2005 when he acquired family land and felt led to chopping the wood on the land for those in need. One family in need led to another family, which led to another family, which led to providing 80 persons with firewood in the first year. In 2018, 268 loads of firewood were sent to the community, and 2013 holds the record for 356 loads. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed, year-round, to assist with chopping and splitting wood, and delivery of firewood.
The Firewood Ministry was recognized as the 2020 Person(s) of the Year by WLOS - News 13
GET INVOLVED
Volunteer
An hour, three hours, or recurring volunteers are always needed. Splitting of wood, and delivery is a year-round effort, not just winter time. If you can spare time to volunteer, contact Richard Reeves below via phone.
Donate.
Splitting and loading wood is hard work! We have a goal to purchase equipment including a TRACO and conveyor to make the process easier for volunteers. Funds also go towards purchasing logs, gas, and oil.
Donate by visiting the church office, or mailing a donation to:
